Thank You Inner Critic

A while ago I went to a class about the inner critic by Sarah Lambert. She had an interesting way to handle it.
  • Acknowledge the inner critic by saying  “Thank you”
  • Check in about the topic
  • Decide what to do
Since taking the class I learned when my inner critic is feeling fear about moving forward or its name calling then I can acknowledge, thank and move on.

At other times it’s smart to listen to my inner critic. There was a pamphlet about dune buggy rides and I thought it would be a fun adventure to do with my Honey. My inner critic was chiming in…”hello you have some of the health conditions listed on the do not ride list" (on their website). I was torn between having an adventure with my guy and being mindful of my health.  I spoke to him about it and we came up with some other fun options. 

Taking the time to check in with my inner critic can be helpful in different ways. It can quiet the name calling inner critic, acknowledge some fears or give some important advice.
