Making Life Easier

There was a time I loved to cook. I took pride in making things from scratch and enjoying eating them. Over time it became more of a chore that needed to be done. I learned to do things that made it easier.

I used to make big batches of dishes I loved and freeze a bunch of servings. It made it easy to heat things up for people and I didn’t need to cook 2 – 3 different meals. Now, I’ll make enough for a few left overs possibly one goes in the freezer. One thing that makes it easier for me to cook and saves me a bit of money is when I grocery shop I pick up lean beef and chicken that is close to date and marked down. I cook it up that day and let it cool and freeze it in serving sized that work for my cooking.  When I want to cook something up a few steps are done because I don’t need to pick up and cook the meat.
