There have been times when I would feel frustrated or get stuck on a point in a discussion but I didn’t know why. It was like being caught in a loop.
Over the years I’ve learned sometimes people just need their feelings acknowledged. I’m getting better at noticing when I need this and saying to a person “I need my feelings acknowledged.” When they did this I felt better, even if we didn’t agree I knew they heard me and understood how I felt.
Let’s notice when we’re stuck in our own loop and ask for acknowledgement and if we see another struggling with this acknowledge their feelings so we can feel heard and understood.
