What's Your Word or Phrase for This Year

2023 is a year for wanting movement and action for me. With some inspiration from a dear group of ladies, the word “flow” came up. So I'm visualizing "riding the flow" around any blocks to my 2023 dreams.

Choose a word or phrase to inspire and guide you towards your wants this year. Don't let blocks stand in the way, use the word or phrase to connect with your dreams and visualize it guiding you through your best year ever.

Find a way to measure your progress. Share with a friend, track and celebrate your smaller wins as your moving towards your bigger one(s).

The dreamer in me likes the word “dream”. To create the life I crave, dreams have been helpful.

Dreaming gets the ideas flowing. By taking action it can be created. As you probably know this is often called a goal.

For dreams to be created, action needs to happen. So, dream big and take action to create the life you crave!

Don't Defer Your Dream or Goal

Don't defer your dream or goal until after the new year, this is a fantastic time to continue to create them.
 
Set up supports and systems around you to instantly translate your intentions into action. Jump on opportunities that line up with your dream or goal. When something pops into your head to do towards it, write it down and go for it!

When you act on your dream or goal it keeps it alive and gives energy to continue towards achievement.

What Step Toward Your Dream Are You Taking Today

​Are there smaller things to lead to your larger dream or goal?

For example: If you’re wanting to change your career path and need to update your degree or need a certification to do this. Talk to someone you know working in this area, look into what training would be the best fit for your life, contact them to see what the next steps are.

Taking one small step taken today moves you closure to what you want.

2 Ways to Open The Flow Of Ideas When Stuck

When feeling stuck, connect with others and talk about it. Sometimes all is needed is:
 
  • A new perspective
  • Voice it out loud with someone else
 
The flood gates open and ideas start to flow in.

Distractions

Do you wonder where the time goes and why things aren't getting done. Distractions get in the way.
 
If you're catching yourself fascinated by something that moves your focus away from the 
next important step towards a goal to thrive in your life (a new job or promotion, school, planning your next adventure) these can be distractions that are getting in the way of where you want to go.

  1. Pick two things each day to focus on
  2. When you notice your focus has gone some place else
  3. Refocus on your two things

When focusing on the next few steps towards the thriving life you want, it keeps the momentum going towards where you want to go.

Negative Messages Stopping You In Your Tracks

Have you noticed at times when you’re doing something new and a negative message comes up like; what am I doing, or I can’t do that, no way? Then it stops you in your tracks, keeping you from your adventure, goal, dream or other.

When these pop up recognize and acknowledge this is a new path and that’s an old thought and continue to move forward.

Let your mind focus on what you're wanting more of and when something comes to mind take a small action step toward it.

It's Time To Dream Big

At the beginning of the year is a great time to explore what you want to accomplish. Here are some prompts to get you thinking and moving forward . . .

  1. What do you want to do this year (write a book, take a trip, get a promotion, move . . .)?
  2. What is your number one thing you want to accomplish this year?
  3. What are some action steps you can do to start moving forward on this?

If you notice you aren't taking a step, break it down to smaller steps. This makes them no brainer steps and dials down resistance to your big dream.

The New Year Focus

The new year is coming up fast and in previous years I've shared and chose three words to focus on at the beginning of the year. This year I came up with a different idea: Choose a statement or thought to keep the focus on for the year.

What’s your focus statement or thought for the year?

This year mine is: I choose to live a life I love.

Put it up to see it often. If there's a picture that represents it, put that up. New things are easier to see in our environment and will remind us of our focus for the year.

Follow these five easy steps for mantra tapping:

  1. Choose a mantra
  2. Take 3 deep breaths in and out
  3. Tap on the karate chop point gently
  4. While saying the mantra out loud 3 times
  5. Take 3 more deep breaths in and out
 
Using mantras and tapping at the same time is a powerful practice to use.
