Do you wonder where the time goes and why things aren't getting done. Distractions get in the way.
 
If you're catching yourself fascinated by something that moves your focus away from the 
next important step towards a goal to thrive in your life (a new job or promotion, school, planning your next adventure) these can be distractions that are getting in the way of where you want to go.

  1. Pick two things each day to focus on
  2. When you notice your focus has gone some place else
  3. Refocus on your two things

When focusing on the next few steps towards the thriving life you want, it keeps the momentum going towards where you want to go.

Why Tapping Is Helpful

Why tapping is helpful is there are many issues, feelings and events tapping reduces or releases the charge, as I like to call it, or emotional hurt or discomfort connected to feelings, issues and events. Listed below are some: 

Life changes (divorce, work, move and relationship matters to name a few)
Stress
Grief
Moving forward in life and goals
Feeling; sad, angry, frustrated​, upset, low on joy

Relaxing pt. 3

When I take the time to relax, I can focus better and have more energy for the tasks needed to get done. At times when I need to relax, “beat up” messages will come up. Here are some tips on dialing down these messages:
 
  • Thank the brain-message for letting you know you have things to do
  • Remind yourself to relax at this time and the to-dos will get done more efficiently later
  • Build in relaxation breaks in your day
 
Don’t beat yourself up when you need to relax. Listen to your body, take breaks when needed and have better energy and focus to get your to-dos done more efficiently.

Self-Care Equals More Energy

It’s important to put yourself first at times so you have energy to do all the other things. Take the walk that helps with stress and have energy later to wrap or shop for gifts.

  1. Think about some self-care activities
  2. Set a time and day to do these
  3. Have a backup day and time​
  4. Attach it to something you already do regularly
  5. Put these on your calendar and build them into your life 

When they pop up don't think about them, just do them. This sets yourself up for great self-care and energy to do the things you want to do
.

When my body was giving me signals to relax, I had resistance to do this. There were many things on my to-do list to get done. In the end I did both and it felt great! 

​Take time to relax and get things done, you're worth it!

Over the Thanksgiving weekend I took time to rejuvenate myself. I knew there were many things to get done but my body was letting me know to take time to relax. Here are 3 ideas to get you thinking about relaxing:
 
  1. Put your feet up
  2. Read a fun book
  3. Watch a show or movie
 
When your body is telling you to relax, take time and do it!

Making Change Easier

Change can feel stressful and difficult. Set some time aside to:
 
  1. Sit in a calming place and separate the big change into small ones
  2. Ask yourself, "how doable is this smaller change," If no brainer doable, just do it!
  3. If not, break it down even smaller 

When you look at the “big Change” start separating it into smaller ones and smaller ones until it's no brainer doable. This easy practice reduces stress by making change easier.

It’s funny when I’m listening to others about an issue in their lives, many questions come to mind to ask to get them thinking. This is the life coach coming out in me. Although when it’s my issue, they can fade to the back at times. One question that has been helpful is:
 
If this was a friend’s issue and they were open to a question to get them thinking, what would it be?
 
This often movies me forward.

Take a few deep breaths in and out, drink some water and tap on round & other points gently while saying out loud:

More Happy In My Life

When I was going through my divorce, I felt stressed out, devastated, scared and many other feelings.  I needed to process some of these to clear space for happiness to start showing up more in my life. There are many ways to start doing this. Here are a few tips:
 
  • Journal to get them out of your head and to know what to tap on
  •  Tap to reduce and release the feelings

Dial Down Fear & Nervousness

Have you ever noticed feeling nervous or fear coming up and you realize your thinking of what ifs for a future event? When we spend time thinking about unpleasant outcomes of a future event, it brings on nervous or fearful feelings. Find ways to bring yourself back to the present. A few ways are:
 
Tap
Focus on your breathing
Connect with one of your senses
 
Staying present is a great way to dial down fear and nervousness.
