Some years back I had been living in a very tense, stressful situation and I moved to Portland and was staying with friends until I found a new place to live. One day we were sitting around the dining room table chatting, laughing and having a good time.
We laughed so loud that the neighbors came over to find out what movie we were watching. I realized I really needed a big laugh out loud and I wanted to be open to LOL’s, smiles and chuckles.
I experienced laughter as great medicine that day.
Let’s find something funny and get a chuckle, smile and/or even better a big laugh out loud to enjoy.
There was a quote on Facebook about acknowledging others feelings. I’ve had times in my life that I needed that but I didn’t know it at the time.
There have been times I’ve been on the KD~Kat-wheel (aka brain hamster wheel) mulling a situation over. I need to pull a part some feelings and decide what I needed to do. Now I tap about my discontented feelings and I’m learning to see the signs and ask for what I need. Even if it didn’t change the situation I’d feel better about it.
It felt like I was heard when my feelings were acknowledged.
Let’s remember to speak up kindly when we need this and acknowledge others feelings.
It's the Holiday season and I don't want to gain weight like I use too during this time.
I noticed lately that I think more about do I really want this before eating or drinking something. I find I'm saying maybe another time. I can have what I want and I don't feel deprived. I’m happier because of it and it fits with joyful life living.
This is a good time for me to be aware of what I'm choosing to eat and making mindful choices.
Often on holidays I get together with family but this Thanksgiving it didn’t work out and I could have sat at home alone or I could be open to other opportunities.
I chose to rent a movie I really wanted to see and go out to eat. A friend joined me with a friend of hers for dinner. It was a lot of fun and I didn’t need to do the dishes either. I am glad I did this and it was fun watching the movie too.
Let’s be open to possibilities and opportunities, we never know what can come of it.
Have you ever had someone in your life that even in adult hood has this beautiful young at heart excitement over life, I do and I am glad for it?
During the Holidays she joins in the fun & festivities and she sparkles with a child’s energy and glee. I enjoy seeing her wonder in her eyes and her excitement over a simple outing to a big trip. It’s inspiring.
She reminds me to continue to play no matter what my age. See the wonder and beauty of the little moments.
The weekend is coming… remember to let the child inside out to play and inspire your beautiful young at heart self each and every day.
I lost an old friend this week. He touched many lives and he'll be missed.
I knew his time was coming so it wasn’t a shock. It is a good reminder to me to enjoy the people in my life while they’re here. We never know what is around the next corner.
I’m glad he was my friend and it's my hope we will meet again on the other side.
May you have incredible relationships in your life and think about giving some an extra hug when you get a chance.
Before a meal (about 30 minutes) start sipping on a glass of water. Work your way up to drinking a cup of water 20 - 30 minutes before each meal in your day. This can give your brain the opportunity to let you know your full sooner.
Bullying and being unkind to myself didn't help me with my weight-loss but tapping and learning to love and accept myself as I am did.
Be kind to yourself along your weight-loss journey and tap because you're worth it!
Doing a bit of movement (make bed, put things away, stretch...) in the morning could make a difference on the scale.
When I weigh right when I get up in the morning then I move around for 30 minutes or more and weigh again my weight is often lower the second time. I think it gives my body time to release some retained water.
Let me know if this makes a difference for you too.
Identify some healthy snacks and have them on hand when you need them. Some suggestions below are:
The trick is to be prepared and have healthy snacks on hand so you can easily grab them when hunger or low energy hits.
Friends can ebb and flow in life. Some are friends for a while then move on. I cherish the memories and wish them well. Some are life time old friends that know me and love me as I am.
Recently I got together with an old friend. We hadn’t seen each other in a long time and it felt good to get caught up. A week later I met again for lunch with the same friend…this was a big treat. She invited a mutual friend of ours to join us. I hadn’t seen her in a while either. I used to get together weekly with her and schedules changed. We started doing weekly phone calls instead because we wanted to keep that connection. I was glad she mentioned this at lunch and the three of us talked about chatting on the phone more.
Nurturing friendships and staying connected is important and I’m looking forward to those phone calls and enjoying the gift of friendship.
I hope you have gifts of friendship in your life and you stay connected in some way.
See the joy in the little things . . .
In the last few days I’ve run into some road blocks on a project I’m working on. I felt frustrated and even shed some tears about it.
When road blocks happen it’s okay to feel and acknowledge my feelings and I tap on them too. Letting go of the uncomfortable emotions lets me be open to other options. I felt better releasing the emotions and the new options started flowing in.
Then I found a new road to move forward on and I’m moving forward on my project and have a new plan to move forward on.

As some of you know I’ve been on a weight-loss journey this year.
Some big keys in this year’s journey to learn more about weight-loss are:
I’m glad to be on my way to my ideal weight and looking forward to sharing what I learned from my own experiences and others.
Earlier in my life I looked for happiness outside of myself but it comes from within and I’m the only one that can satisfy it.
It's important to speak what's on my mind and say it in a gentle way (I’m still working on this). Be who I really am. I’m tapping, learning and finding ways toward fulfillment and it’s a journey worth taking. Some thoughts on it are:
You’d be amazed at how it can bring joy and change in a person’s life.
I was talking & tapping with my Honey this morning. Out of the blue he asked me a question.
What am I grateful for in this moment? Here are some that came to mind.
In this moment what are you grateful for?
One day last week I woke up and I was reflecting on the day before food choices and I liked some of my choices and there were a few I didn’t like.
A year ago I would have been hard on myself and the inner critic would’ve had some harsh words for me. Today, I’m kinder to myself. With tapping I have dialed down my inner critic and I’m learning to accept myself as I am.
Be kind & accepting of yourself as you are each & every day because you are worth it!
I was posting on line today with someone that has been sick and in bed. It reminded me to be grateful for the days I feel good.
Today I am grateful for feeling fine.
I hope you are feeling fantastic!
Facing fear of rejection can be scary but I was tired of being put in a box. I was ready to embrace my true self and I was glad I had tapping to help me walk through this.
It can be difficult to release the old messages when you want to be accepted. Others possibly had expectations from others to be more like them or another or been told to act different. Ex: Be quiet, sit still, why can’t you be more like______ (fill in the blank). I had to face some fears of the possibility of being unaccepted by others when I choose to become a tapping practitioner and I’m glad I did it.
I hope you can tap or have other tools & ways to be you. Embrace being your true amazing self and shine as only you can today & every day.
