A Quiet Pause

8/31/2017

Let’s take time for breathing
Pause in a quiet spot
  • Take in a long deep breath in to the count of 4
  • Pause for count of 2
  • Release slowly for the count of 8
This breathing practice can be a great way to feel more grounded and relaxed.

Embrace Inner Peace

8/30/2017

When we hold on to something it can create inner turmoil.

It’s important to release it and forgive. When we forgive others and ourselves it’s about letting it go. This doesn’t mean we forget it. It’s about releasing and creating inner peace.

Let’s release the turmoil and embrace inner peace.

A Tuesday Mantra

8/29/2017

Mantras are great way to add to our lives. Say this mantra out-loud three times. You can make it more powerful with tapping on the karate chop point and saying it while looking in the mirror:

I love myself as I am

Let's choose to love ourselves as we are. We are lovable!

Joyful Life

8/28/2017

This post had interesting points and I wanted to share, 5 Pillars of a Joyful Life, by Dr. Carmen Harra:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-carmen-harra/5-pillars-of-a-joyful-life_b_6186390.html

Let’s see and be open to; gratefulness, knowledge, serenity, acceptance and love in our lives.

Quality Of Life

8/26/2017

I’ve known people that refused to have hearing tests and aids and I saw how it affected their quality of life and the people around them. Recently I went to an event where an audiologist was speaking about hearing loss and I was pleased I could sign up for a free screening.

I went to Connect Hearing in Portland, OR and my hearing is doing just fine. I can go back yearly to have a free screening. This is a great way to know where I am at and if I’m ever in accident that affects my hearing I have a baseline too. Hearing is important and it can add more joy into our lives.

Let’s take care of our hearing by having a free screening.

Opportunities

8/25/2017

I was waiting for the eclipse earlier in the week and had forgotten to toss some books in my adventure bag. I found an old one in the bag that I hadn’t picked up in a long time.

A Taste of Chicken Soup for the Soul and this specific story was by Dan Reust called The Littlest Things. If you haven’t read these before each chapter is a real life story that someone wrote about a life experiance. He was going through a difficult time and was reminded that:

“Every day we are presented with opportunities, some large, some small, to move forward in life’s journey“

We often miss these or don’t have the energy to see what it is.

Let’s be open to a new view.

Job Changes

8/24/2017

Changes at work seem to be going around these days. I thought I’d post a round of Tapping on this today. Tap on Karate chop point and say:

Even though I feel _____ (upset or fill in the blank) about the changes at work I love and accept myself as I am. Even though I feel _____ (upset or fill in the blank) about the changes at work I love and accept myself as I am. Even though I feel _____ (upset or fill in the blank) about the changes at work I choose to let go of the upset, come up with a plan and go for it.

If you want to do a round of Tapping look at chart and say reminder phrases below.

Top of the head - Feeling upset
Eye brow – I choose to let it go
Side of eye – Feeling upset
Under eye – I choose to let it go
Under nose – Feeling upset
On the chin –I choose to let it go
Collar bone – And go for my plan
Under the arm –I am letting it go and ready to go for it
Take a couple of deep breaths, drink some water. Way to go on doing a round of tapping.

Let’s release the upset so we can move forward in our lives.

Eclipse Adventure

8/23/2017

I live close to where the full eclipse was happening and my Honey and I decided to have an adventure around it. We heard the traffic was going to be crazy but we decided to drive the back roads and see how far we could get. We found a gas station and convenience store that had picnic tables. It was a great spot to land. We had a great view, musician played (for a while across the street) nice people around us and if we needed something the store was a parking lot away.

When it got closer to the event the temperature dropped and wind picked up. There was almost a golden wash over the landscape and it did go dark for a bit. The sky was amazing!

If you got to experience even a bit of it or you watched it on TV write about it. What were you doing during the full eclipse? It doesn’t happen very often and it’s neat to write about it.

Sharing Resources

8/22/2017

There are many Vets and many people who have Vets in their lives. Sometimes they struggle with their experiences they had and I wanted to let people know about the Veterans Stress Project.

They can assist Vets with sessions and by walking them through EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique, Tapping). This simple technique can be used at home or on the go too. This can change lives. Read some of the amazing quotes and reviews from people that participated.

Let’s share resources with others; we never know when someone might need it and if they have someone to pass it along to.

A List For Success

8/21/2017

When we have goals or actions that we want to feel more successful at having a list can help.

That is why creating a Tapping list so we can scan the list and pick one quickly and easily. This can come in handy and make it easier to keep track of what we want to tap on and what we’ve done.

If we want to drop a few pounds or bring more joy in to our lives we can put them on the list and Tap away the blocks so we can feel more success with our actions and goals.

Saturday Surprise

8/19/2017

This list of rentals had some surprises in it. I thought renting was a great option and an opportunity to take something out for a test drive to see if it’s a one hit wonder or something that can add to my life over time. Check them out.

Did you find any surprises in the list and if so what was one of them? One of mine was a fake cake.

New & Exciting

8/18/2017

It’s fun to jump in and do something different. I saw this workshop that looked interesting and signed up. I am looking forward to it.

Let’s be open to something new. It can feel exciting and can recharge us.

Tapping Thursday

8/17/2017

Let’s Tap on fears (heights, bugs, taking the next step on a project…) Sometimes I feel fear about life events, heights and if I am feeling this at times others can too. Here is a quick Tapping for it:

Tap on Karate chop point and say: Even though I feel _____ (scared, fear, distress of fill in the blanks)_______ I love and accept myself as I am. Even though I feel _____ (scared, fear, distress of fill in the blanks)__________ I love and accept myself as I am. Even though I feel _____ (scared, fear distress of fill in the blanks)________ I choose to release it.

If you want to do a round of Tapping alternate these sayings - Feeling scared and choosing to release it on other points shown in Tapping chart below.

Let’s release fear so we can move forward and experience more adventures and accomplishments in our lives.

Writing Wednesday

8/16/2017

Today let’s write down one thing that you’ve wanted to do, possibly declutter an area in your home or clean out the trunk of your car.

Now lets complete a small step towards accomplishing it.

Mine is finishing a sewing project. What’s yours?

Facing Fear

8/15/2017

My weekend adventure changed and my Honey and I went zip lining. It’s been on my adventure list for a while now. I knew I had some fear of heights but I had walked past my fear and took a helicopter ride at sunset, rode a gondola and did indoor skydiving too. I loved them all and was so glad I did them. I found out that zip lining and standing on suspended (moving) platforms taxed my fear of heights big time! I was tempted to not finish and shed a few tears at times but I did all seven zips and walked over one bridge, zipped two others and also an auto rappel down to the ground once too.

Even though I wish I could have had less fear it felt great to zip down the last line and know I had done it even though it was scary and challenging to climb the stairs and zip on down the lines.

Let’s face our fears so we can fly.

Joy Standing Out Brightly

8/14/2017

We can often get caught up in the hubbub of our lives.

Today let the life din recede and the joy in our day stand out brightly.

Insights Part 1

8/12/2017

There were some great points in this article from Sara Gottfried MD called Cortisol Switcharoo and I plan to post them in small nuggets over time. One I found interesting is about practices instead of tips. I use the word tips often and thought it was something people could test drive and keep or not in their life. Her uptake is:

”Practices are something you take on more fully, and integrate into your day — ultimately becoming a habit.”

Wow interesting point! I also have resistance to the word habit because it represents something bad but habits can be good or bad. I’d like to have many great habits in my life.

Let’s be open to learning new practices that become habits that add to our lives.

Thinking About Adventures

8/11/2017

This weekend I want to have some fun with my Honey. It reminds me to think about what ideas for adventures I can come up with to do. The weather has been hot so a drive in an air conditioned car or movie is sounding good.

Let's take out our adventure and/or bucket lists and see if there is something that calls to us to do that is a great fit for this weekend!

Tapping to Release Fretting

8/10/2017

Sometimes I feel fretful about life events and if I am feeling this at times others can too. Here is a round of Tapping for it:

Tap on Karate chop point and say:

Even though I feel _____ (fretful, nervous, uneasy-fill in the blank) I love and accept myself as I am. Even though I feel _____ (fretful, nervous, uneasy-fill in the blank) I love and accept myself as I am. Even though I feel _____ (fretful, nervous, uneasy-fill in the blank) I choose to release it and let it go so harmony can flow in.

Tap and alternate these sayings: Feeling fretful, choosing to release it on points shown in Tapping chart below.

Let’s release the fretting and let harmony come in.

Wednesday Writing

8/9/2017

Today’s writing is inspired by: 101 Journal Questions for Women, by Tony T Robinson. Let’s write or ponder about: fretful, nervous and or unsettling feelings. When I think about _____________(fill in the blank I feel fretful, nervous, unsettle.

I thought this was an interesting question to free write and ponder about and tomorrow I’ll post a Tapping on this. When we know what we need to let go of we can use tapping, oils and other options to help release the feelings around it.

If feelings get stirred up from this you can smell or diffuse some essential oils. Here are a few suggestions; lavender, balance, serenity blend or look up others to use. Checkout my doTerra Website
