Where I live it rains a lot and we have a lot of gray days. It lifts my spirit to see the sun out and I want to enjoy it when I can.
Today I was browsing in a book I picked up recently. It’s called The Little Book of Mindfulness, by Dr. Patrizia Collard. Each chapter has a quote at the beginning this one caught my eye:
Being in the Now Living moment by moment, and seeing everything afresh without judgement and worry lets us experience life rather than simply get through it. By Dr. Patrizia Collard Let’s remind ourselves to be present and let go of worry and judgment so more joy can come into our lives. Of course this is after we’ve put on some music and danced first.
When we are enjoying ourselves with friends, family or at events we are making beautiful memories that can bring us joy many years later when we think of it. Let’s remember to enjoy amazing times at the time and put them in the bank to delight in the priceless memories later too. Pick one thing you want to move forward in, personal or professional:
Let's think of one to a few things that bring us joy and add some joy today!
I was chatting with a friend and I mentioned going to the dentist and I had a clean bill of health and it felt so great.
This reminded me that it took me year’s to floss regularly and I know that I need two cleanings a year too. One great way to self-care is to floss, brush and mouthwash twice a day. Let’s do some great self-care today because we are worth it! Let's remember to take care of ourselves today by adding an extra cup of water or ask for an extra hug or do something "special for you", because we are worth it!
Sometimes we forget what others do for us as we go about our busy lives. These people add value to our lives.
Let’s give someone an extra complement and or; thank them for keeping the kitchen clean or for keeping in touch or checking the oil. These people add joy to our lives add some to theirs today. Recently, I was tapping as a practice client for a future EFT Practitioner; while she was leading the tapping “I choose my destiny” came to me. This has helped me remember my destiny for my weight choice so I didn’t grab those impulse foods when they called to me. I went home and enjoyed what I had originally planned to eat. It feels good to choose my destiny that is in line with my lifestyle choices.
Find what works for you and love the feel of empowerment to succeed and inspiration to meet your dreams, goals and lifestyle choices. My Honey came up with a new adventure to do, we went to Skamania Lodge. They had zip lining. This is outside my comfort zone but I want to do this.
We walked up to the first zip platform and later we watched people zip line. I’m nervous about the ones I can’t see and I don’t think there is an easy exit…LOL. It’s going on our bucket list. Sometimes we need to walk past our fear and zip on down the line! It will be an amazing adventure! part 2 Let's find some laughter in our day. A LOL or even a chuckle feels great and adds joy.
My Honey and I have a joint bucket list that we add too when we see or think of something we both want to do together. It’s great to see the fun and progress and look forward to other adventures.
Start a bucket list or dust off an existing one. Check things off, add new ideas small too big and enjoy the adventures! Part 1 Let’s be kind to one another and accept ourselves and others as we are in this moment because everyone is valuable and we don’t know what it’s like to walk in their shoes. Pt 2
I continued to declutter and had two more donation bags go yesterday. I even could put a smaller shelf in place by doing this and the room feels more open.
Look around and toss something in a donation bag each day. You’ll be amazed at how letting go of one small thing can add up and a nonprofit and others can benefit too. Part 3 There isn’t a way for us to walk in others shoes but if we had to we could better understand where they are and see the hero’s they are, living each day as well as they do.
Pt 1 Wow, I started doing my few minutes of declutter and I really got into it. I had a few closet organizers that needed to go because one broke and other was on its way.
My closet is now reorganized so I can easily access the things I wear more. I had a bag of donation and toss. It felt good to lighten my load. Next areas to tackle are my dresser drawers. These I plan to do a little at a time. Two drawers a month is fine with me. Pick something very small and go for it! You never know what you’ll find and what you’ll let go of. It can feel fantastic to lighten our load. Pt 2 Today I’m planning to start rearranging my closet and cleaning some out.
Let’s pick an area we want to declutter and spend a few minutes on it today. Part 1 |
